Visualization of the Modeled Degradation of Building Flooring Systems in Building Maintenance

چکیده
The development of a maintenance programme for construction projects is a highly complex and data intensive undertaking. This exercise is characterised by the lack of relevant data on the one hand and the overwhelming amount of extraneous data on the other. The uncertainties and complexities have resulted in increased conservatism in the development of lifecycle evaluation of building maintenance programing, subsequently, these programmes tend to display the symptoms of either the maintenance actions being uneconomical or fall short of providing the appropriate service to the users of the building. The current research project is based on the premise that the visual approach will facilitate a just-in-time solution to maintenance scheduling, hence, the use of virtual simulation of the building is proposed. The broader aim of this research is to develop a complete building maintenance programme through visualisation of buildings as they degrade over time. Here, the focus is on the flooring system and the manner they degrade over time. This requires a better understanding of their pattern and rate of usage. To this end, Anthroposophy and Anthropocentric descriptions of human movement pattern have been used to describe the behaviour of 'subjects' and subsequently represent the pattern and density of the degradation of flooring systems. The mathematics representing this behaviour has been developed which enables it to be embedded into the proposed overall visual building maintenance model.

Visualization of the Impact of Time on Internal Flooring
This paper forms part of a broader research into the development of a building maintenance programme through visualization of the building as it degrades over time. In a previous work, by the authors, the overview model of building maintenance visualization has been given in which the behaviour of building components are mathematically analysed before submitted for VRML representation. In a lat...
متن کاملEffective energy consumption parameters in residential buildings using Building Information Modeling
Building information modeling can help in predicting the energy efficiency in future based on dynamic patterns obtained by visualization of data. The aim of this study was to investigate the effective parameters of energy consumption using BIM technology which can evaluate the buildings energy performance. First, three forms of general states in the building were modeled to evaluate the propose...
متن کاملBuilding a maintenance policy through a multi-criterion decision-making model
A major competitive advantage of production and service systems is establishing a proper maintenance policy. Therefore, maintenance managers should make maintenance decisions that best fit their systems. Multi-criterion decision-making methods can take into account a number of aspects associated with the competitiveness factors of a system. This paper presents a multi-criterio...
متن کاملOPTIMUM LAYOUT OF NONLINEAR FLUID VISCOUS DAMPER FOR IMPROVEMENT THE RESPONSES OF TALL BUILDINGS
The utilization of passive energy dissipation systems has been created a revolution in the structural engineering industry due to their advantages. Fluid Viscous Damper (FVD) is one of these control systems. It has been used in many different industries, such as the army, aerospace, bridge, and building structures. One of the essential questions about this system is how it can combine with the ...
متن کاملStudy on Synthesis and Characterization of Unsaturated Poly (ester-amide) as Bone Fixation Materials
A new type of unsaturated poly ester-amide was prepared by melt polycondensation and characterized completely. Influence of heat treatment conditions and cross-linking content on mechanical and degradation properties of unsaturated polyester-amide were studied. Results suggested that the newly synthesized unsaturated poly(ester-amide) possessed good heat stabilization properties. Mechanical...
